I think the colors you've chosen are really nice.  And I walked the dog past your home yesterday and the siding already looks great!  Nice updates!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
We have decided to go with Hardie board for our siding for ease of maintenance and fire proofing (and availability).  Instead of everything in horizontal lines, we are planning on breaking up the pattern as illustrated in the attached sketch.  We have not decided on colors yet - those in the illustration are just placeholders.  Our designer is thinking lighter earth tones to better blend with the environment, but we will keep you in the loop.
Thank you,

Gentlemen,
We've passed electrical, structural, plumbing and insulation inspections and are excited to see the house start coming together.
In the process of replacing the windows we discovered there is no moisture barrier or house wrap under the siding of the house.  Further, the particle board/plywood under the siding was stapled to the studs and it is falling off in places.  We were going to eventually replace the siding, but this is accelerating that plan.
I will present you with our planned color and materials for your approval as soon as we make a decision on what we would like to do.  In general, we want to break up the horizontal look all the way around the house and possibly go with a lighter color earth tone.
We will be replacing the roof sooner or later as well.  Besides getting rid of the red, we will be eliminating the two chimneys as we have deleted the wood burning stoves.  I will keep you posted.
Thank you,
Michael Koski
